All Cassiterite is from the Taylor Creek Tin District, Sierra Co., New Mexico This botryoidal Cassiterite is VERY RARE. Please look on the internet and in rock shops, you will not find many specimens for sale. In my research I found only three pieces (at much higher prices). I collected all specimens on this page from the above location. Translucent Red Cassiterite This specimen has it all! Rare Red with small crystals that show light wear from tumbling down a creek. One chip (photo#2) that looks like a flower (aka woodtin).
